There is no need to install any software on the computer and it may be running Windows (XP, Vista or Windows 7), Mac OS X or Linux. Full authentication support. Password-protected folder to keep private information. The files in the password protected folder are accessible only through myExplorer. Advanced text viewer. View any text file with various encoding (Latin-1, Cyrillic, UTF-8 and UTF-16), custom font size and colors, and advanced smart reflow. Zip files support. Open, view and extract files from Zip, Rar, 7z, Tar, Gz and Bz2 archives. Supported phones: Nokia N9; Nokia 808, 701, 700, 603 and 500; Nokia N8, E7, C7, and C6-01; Nokia 5800, 5530, C6, N97, N97 mini, and X6; Samsung Wave 3 (S8600), Wave (S8500), Wave II (S8530), Wave 525, 533, 575 and 723 myExplorer: Wi-Fi file transfer With myExplorer you have full access to any network folder (shared network disk) on any computer as long as you have working wireless Wi-Fi access to a LAN network. You can even access and use LAN-based external hard-disk storage utilities like Apple Time Capsule or any other network attached storage (NAS). The operations with network disks are the same as with the local phone memory. You can browse the folders, open the files, rename them, and copy or move them between the phone and the computer. Supported operating systems include Windows (XP, Vista or Windows 7), MacOS X and Linux. Here are some of the features of myExplorer for Wi-Fi file transfer: Easy and intuitive browsing of both local phone memory and network folders. Ability to add and navigate multiple netowork folders on different computers. Full support for copy, cut and paste operations with one or multiple files. Recursive delete, copy and move operations (all subfolders and files in a folder are processed too). Filter/search in the current folder, using wildcards (* and ? symbols) to quickly find a file in a huge folder. New folder and rename operations. Ability to check the free space on local phone memory and the network disks. If you have a working Wi-Fi network (most probably using Wi-Fi router or Wi-Fi access point), you can connect to your shared network folders right away. If you are not sure how to share the folders on your computer for network access, please see the Network File Sharing article. Even if you do not have a Wi-Fi router or Wi-Fi access point, you can setup the Wi-Fi adapter in your laptop or netbook to work with myExplorer and to provide remote access to the disk of your laptop from the phone. See Wi-Fi access point on a laptop article for more information how to do this. myExplorer supports all network shares via CIFS (SMB) protocol over TCP (using the default port 445). In addition to Windows PC network shares, the program works with Mac OS SMB shares and Linux Samba shares. Please note that because of the security restriction of bada, all file transfers must first be copied on the My Private Files disk and therefore it is not possible to copy files that are larger than the free space on this disk. There is no such restriction with myExplorer on Nokia phones. myExplorer: password protected phone memory Sometimes it is very useful to have a password protected place to keep the highly secure or sensitive images, videos or documents. You can set a password on the My Private Files disk (the first disk on the myExplorer main screen) and then use it as a vault for the most sensitive information. Even if your phone is lost or stolen, the content of this disk cannot be accessed without the password. Additionally, you can give the phone to someone without worrying that (s)he can see everything on the phone. You can copy or move files to and from My Private Files disk, create new folders and do any other file operation. Once you set the password, you will be asked to enter it every time when you start myExplorer and try to open the My Private Files disk. WARNING! If you forget your password, you will not be able to access any of the files in the My Private Files disk. Even if myExplorer is uninstalled from the phone, the contents of My Private Files disk will be deleted. Please note that the password is case-sensitive (i.e. PASS is not the same as pass or PaSs ). You can also change or remove the existing password (only if you know the current password, of course). myExplorer: advanced text viewer myExplorer has integrated advanced text viewer. You can use it to read all kinds of plain text files. The text viewer is optimized for the phone screen and allows you to rearrange (reflow) the text in a way that is most convenient for reading of long documents (see the screenshots at the bottom of the page). The text viewer supports the following text encodings: ASCII/Latin-1 (supporting most European languages), Cyrillic-1251 (supports all Cyrillic languages), Windows-1252 (adds support for some additional European languages), UTF-8 and UTF-16 . The UTF-8 and UTF-16 encodings are detected automatically if the text file is saved correctly. You can switch the encoding manually if it does not appear correct. Additionally, you can change the font size, the color of the text and the background, and go to specific places in the text document (by line number or by percent). There is a dedicated Page Down button, which scrolls exactly one page down and allows convenient and fast reading. myExplorer: support for archive files myExplorer allows you to open, view and extract files from Zip, Rar, 7z, Tar, Gz and Bz2 archives. Password-protected archive files are supported too. If the file is located on a network share, it will be opened directly from there without transfering on the phone first. This greatly decreases the time to open large Zip files. Send your comments and suggestions to site@milincorporated.com Copyright © 2003-2015 Mil Incorporated. All rights reserved....
